This website has been created to honor the countless number of great basketball players that have graced the hardwood floor in the storied Proviso East Field House in Maywood, IL. Guided by legendary coaches Tom Millikin, Glenn Whittenberg, and William “Bill” Hitt, many of these athletes have gone on to enjoy very successful professional basketball careers in the National Basketball Association, as well as, abroad. From the great Al Nuness (Univ. of Minnesota), Jim Brewer (Cleveland Cavaliers), 2008 NBA Champion Boston Celtics Head Coach Glenn “Doc” Rivers (Atlanta Hawks), Reggie Jordan (L.A. Lakers), “The Three Amigos”, Donnie Boyce (Atlanta Hawks), Sherell Ford (Seattle SuperSonics) & 2007 NBA Champion Michael Finley (San Antonio Spurs), Steven Hunter (Denver Nuggets), Daniel “Dee” Brown (Washington Wizards), Shannon Brown (Los Angeles Lakers), to the recent 2007 graduate Jacob Pullen (Kansas State Univ.); we hope to highlight these gifted athletes and coaches while providing an insight into the immense talent that has walked the hallways and graced the courts at Proviso East High School. We aim to appeal to Proviso East fans, as well as, high school sports fanatics everywhere who appreciate great high school basketball programs.
